Hello student applicant! Are you ready to be creative and innovative? Are you ready to turn your talents and passions into a real business?
Before you get started, carefully read the six simple application instructions/steps below. Students may complete the application over multiple sessions if needed. If you need more time to gather academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, or other materials, please feel free to use multiple sessions to complete your application. If you choose to do so, simply submit multiple applications under the same name and location. Our team will work with your local YEA! Program Manager to compile your completed application.
Step 1. Talk to your parent or guardian. You’ll need permission to participate. Specific student and parent/guardian contact information is required to complete the application.
Step 2. Prepare answers to two of the following three questions:
1. Why are you interested in learning about entrepreneurship?
2. If you are currently in the process of launching your own business or social movement or if you have a creative, innovative idea for a business or social movement, please describe.
3. What entrepreneurial story, either from the past or currently, inspires you? Please describe.
Step 3: Prepare a brief essay (approximately 300 words) on the following topic:
Describes a situation when you demonstrated at least two of the following characteristics of successful entrepreneurs: persistence, inquisitiveness, self-confidence, tolerance for failure, creativity, innovation, personal initiative, competitiveness, commitment, strong management and organizational skills.
* Keep in mind: we recommend that you type your responses and save them on your computer before copying and pasting into this application.
Step 4: Upload your academic transcript (an unofficial transcript is acceptable).
Step 5: Request and upload a letter of recommendation (ask a teacher, counselor, sports coach, club advisor, church leader, personal mentor, etc.).
Step 6: Be sure to have a credit card handy for the $20 application fee. After all, it's an investment in your future!
Have you gathered everything above? You’re ready to begin!
